If Holly Software licenses even one copy of the full version of PowerScout, then we are required by the government to collect and pay sales and income taxes. This work consumes too much time and effort for us to license just a few copies here and there. You know how the IRS is.
Last year, working with our accountant and attorney, developed the following process in order to license the full version of PowerScout:
1. You contact Holly Software requesting to purchase a license for the full version of PowerScout.
2. Holly Software responds by supplying you with the license fee and to whom to pay this fee. The fee will be paid to a non-profit organization of Holly Software's choice. Holly Software receives no financial gain from the license fee, only the non-profit organization to whom the check is made payable.
3. You send a check for the full fee to Holly Software.
4. Holly Software forwards the check to the non-profit organization.
5. Holly Software ships to you the full version of PowerScout software with scouting forms and game planning forms.
6. You win more games than ever!
This process has the following virtues: (1) Holly Software legally licenses the full version of PowerScout; (2) no taxes need to be collected and/or paid by you or Holly Software; (3) a non-profit organization benefits from your donation (Holly Software receives no financial benefit from this arrangement, it is a way for us to help out the community).
We successfully used this process many times last year.
